Mjengo Limited was established in 1991 with the intention to wholesale in building materials. It soon saw more potential and diversified to trading in commodities. With the onset of margin depletion in the trading business & less profitability, the Company restructured its entire Business Plan for sustainable Business growth, more focus was given on Distribution & Development of its own Branded Products.
In 2001, Malbros Daawat became Mjengo’s flagship Brand trading in Rice and Pasta. Following the success of this Brand, the company installed a European State of the Art Biscuit Manufacturing plant and expanded to Biscuit manufacturing under the NuVita Brand. Production began with three original biscuits, Vitamilk, Shortcake and Glucose. Through the years, the NuVita family has grown to a wide variety of products to cater to every taste and preference, the latest innovation being a sugar-free range. At the heart of the Brands growth is product diversification, the research and development team are constantly coming up with new and exciting recipes. With fresh ingredients at our core, NuVita products are a perfect choice for something crunchy and delicious.
In 2017 the Company launched a Breakfast Cereals Range under the Brand Cereos and in 2018 a Snacks, Condiments and Complimentary Foods assortment was introduced under the Snak It and Rico Brands respectively.
